A distribution system usually plays three roles: logistics (displaying, delivering and storing products); advice and services (providing details about and promoting the product, providing after-sales service and circulating information between the producer and consumers, and vice versa); financing (making firm Purchases of the product, i.e. assuming the Risk of poor sales).
