In the USA, "accredited Investors" are entities or individuals whose financial Position renders them Eligible by the SECurities Exchange Commission (SEC) to being sold certain riskier financial instruments. Accredited Investors include: (i) Insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions; (ii) corporations and trusts with Assets over 5 mn$; and (iii) individuals with a personal Net worth exceeding 1 mn$ or yearly Income exceeding 200,000$ (300,000$ if married).
