Float ((See Chapter 23 of the Vernimmen))
In relation to a listed company, the "float" refers to the shares which are not held by long-term strategic investors (E.g. founding family investors and strategic industrial partners), but are available for trading. The float (expressed as percentage of total shares) is a key determinant of a share liquidity.
